This Sunday and Monday we had a training with Jamison Shaw Hairdressers from Atlanta, Georgia. Our stylists were trained in French technique haircutting, and learned a variety of new techniques for balayage highlighting! Our classes were fun, informative, current, and very hands-on! Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who came in as models, and to our educators from Jamison Shaw!

Larry was away for two days last week at an Aveda Leadership Class where he learned about communication techniques for meetings. He is especially excited about the knowledge he gained about different learning styles and is already putting his knowledge to work during our staff meetings and workshops!
Linda, Trista, and Larry attended a quarterly Aveda forum last night. They learned about the latest and greatest in the world of Aveda.

We are cellebrating EARTH MONTH by raising money for the Clean Water Fund! Our goal is $2,500! You can help us in any of the following ways:
1. Donations – You are welcome to donate any amount you wish to the Clean Water Fund! When you do, we will fill out a water drop with your name on it and stick it to the front of our desk for the world to see!
2. Blue Hair Extensions! – Come get a shock of blue added to your locks with a $10 So-Cap Hair Extension!
3. Light The Way Candles – Aveda’s delightful lavender soy wax candles are $12 each and are made with pure lavender essential oil from France.
4. Raffle! – We will be raffling off a gift basket full of Aveda products valued at $175! Raffle tickets are 1 for $1, 10 for $5, or 25 for $10, and the winner will be drawn on the last Saturday in April, the 28th.
5. Weekend BALOON POP! – Saturdays at the salon you can pay $20 to pop a bio-degradable balloon with a mystery prize of Aveda products inside! Every balloon is a winner, and for each balloon popped, you will be entered to win a grand prize of a DAY of PAMPERING! Whoo!

We are having a blast with Aveda’s new Full Spectrum Color Line! 
A rainbow of professional colors made with plant based pigments to stay on trend for spring/summer! Check out two examples by colorist Lauren: a client with blond hair who colored the longest layers blue so that they pop out underneath her natural color, and our guest services agent Angie,
who has chunky purple highlights mixed in with her natural brunette and previous fine golden highlights!

At the end of the month, Larry and Linda will be attending a business conference in Austin, Texas. They will be learning about social media marketing to maximize our presence on the web!

Larry and Kim recently completed an Advanced Cutting class with Aveda Advanced Academy Master Stylist, Jon Reyman. Jon has designed hair styles for major fashion shows in New York, Miami, London, Seoul, and Tokyo, and has been featured in Vogue, GQ, Cosmopolitan and Harper’s Bazaar.
Larry and Kim look forward to using the techniques learned on their lucky clients!
